This book has 172 pages. The Energy Bus was written by Jon Gordon. This book takes its readers on a ride that reveals ten rules for approaching things with the kind of positive thinking that leads to accomplishment. The main characters of this book are George and Joy the bus driver. The setting is modern and in a big city. The main conflict is this book was internal. George couldn’t get himself to stop being so negative about everything. So through a lot of time on the bus, Joy helped him become a positive and happy person. I noticed that sometimes I’m not always the most positive person and some of these lessons that were in the book were really helpful. I wonder why Joy was so hooked on trying to get George to be so positive. I’d like to know how Joy always keeps her bus going with positive energy. If I were George, I would’ve tried harder to take in what Joy was saying and I would’ve worked harder to be a more positive person. The central issue in this novel is that George struggles with being a positive person. One other thing I should mention about this book is that it is very helpful and can apply to anyone's life. Something that I learned from this book is that you have to actually know and understand the ten rules in order to actually be positive. My favorite character in this book is Joy the bus driver because she's always so positive and she helps other people become positive people. One moral that stuck out to me is that you can't be positive unless you try. Also that people won't want to get on your bus if you aren't positive. One example is when George wanted his employees to get on his bus for a project the company was doing. None of his employees wanted to get on his bus because his was so negative. One event that lead up to the climax are when George can't drive his car because something is wrong with the brakes. Another event that led up to the climax was George riding the bus everyday and Joy and her friends explaining the rules to him. One last event was when he turned his act around so that his coworkers would work with him on the project. I rated this book 5 stars because it really taught me a good life lesson. I now know the steps to being a positive person and being able to get people on my bus. This could help me in the future with anything in life. It will help me to be a more positive person.

This book has 455 pages. The setting is 2007 in Sterling, NH. The main conflict internally is the struggle of emotions of Josie Cormier and Peter Houghton. The external conflict is the lead up to the trial of the gunman in the story, Peter Houghton. I noticed that the author did a good job of expressing emotions and the changing scenes. I wonder what made the author to write this novel. I’d like to know the author's process in creating characters. If I were Jordan I wouldn't have been able to do my job as the defence of a killer. The central issue in the novel is the legal teams working against each other to prove whether Peter Houghton was a victim of PTSD from continuous bullying. One other thing I should mention about this book is that there is a handful of edgy paragraphs, but nothing that a mature reader can’t handle. I learned about the process of court. My favorite character was Patrick Ducharme because of his honorability as a cop. One theme that stuck out to me was how the popular crowd at Sterling High worked. Three events that contributed to the climax of the book were: The bullying of Peter, His shooting up of the school. and the trial that followed. I give this book 4.5/5 stars because the author did a great job, creating, sustaining, and finding the characters along the way in this book. -

Fallen Angels has 320 pages. Fallen Angels is a book about the Vietnam War and how a squad gets through the war. The main characters of the book are Peewee and Perry. The setting was in Vietnam during the war so around 1955. The main conflict in the book was trying to stay alive. I noticed that Perry and his squad came a lot closer. They became best friends after everything they went through. They were like brothers. I wonder what it's like being in war and all the horrible things you see. I'd like to know if the squad ever meets up again in America. If I were Perry I would've been way to scared to do anything in the war. The central issue in the book is if you make it out alive. VIetnam was a terrible place to fight. It was hot and humid and it just sucked. One other thing i should mention about this book is there is something cussing but it's funny. Otherwise this is a really good book! I don't enjoy reading but I couldn't stop reading it. I learned that you shouldn't be scared and you should always be there for your friends. Peewee was my favorite character, he cussed a lot and he was kinda a pain in the butt, but he was good at fighting. A theme I thought was in this book was Fear. Examples are when Perry is scared to shoot anyone and also when they go into a spiderhole. Three events that lead up to the climax would be, a squad member getting shot, Perry having a nightmare in the bunk rooms, and when they go on their patrols. I rate this book a 5/5. I give the book a 5 because it has a great story line, it's not too challenging, and it's a good war book.
